    Job Title: Program Instructor

    Position Summary:

    As a Program Instructor, you will have the incredible opportunity to teach your favorite activities—whether it’s soccer, basketball, toddler playtime, arts and crafts, or any other skill you love! Classes will cater to a diverse range of ages (from 2yrs through Adult) and will focus on fostering learning and skill building in a fun, supportive environment.

    Essential Functions:

    • Must be able to prepare and follow lesson plans that progressively develop skills
    • Commit to teaching a class once a week
    • Develop positive, encouraging relationships with participants
    • Actively recruit new participants and promote your class to ensure continued growth and engagement
    • Be an advocate for the YMCA’s mission to strengthen our communities and promote our core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility

    • Ability to create a welcoming atmosphere for participants of all backgrounds and abilities
    • Strong communication skills with a knack for building rapport with kids and adults
    • Creativity and enthusiasm in lesson planning and class activities

    Physical Demands:

    Required to physically perform and communicate exercise routines.

    Required to demonstrate physical stamina and agility, and to stoop, kneel, crouch, walk, run, and stand for extended periods of time.

    Ability to react to emergency situations by quick movements, strenuous activity, and communicate in noisy environment.
