    Job Description

    Pilot Company’s professional internship designed to provide on-the-job training and experience to recent college graduates. Engages in various work assignments, projects, and activities of varying complexity, structured to enable the intern to gain the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities needed to perform at a professional level, typically identified with a targeted exempt position. Receives training and mentorship in planning and carrying out activities and assignments. This is a 10-week paid internship program.

    The Logistics Intern will gain hands-on experience in transportation logistics by supporting key projects related to driver scheduling, fleet operations, and efficiency analysis. This internship will gain exposure to real-world logistics challenges, allowing the intern to work closely with a floater group, shadow a Logistics Specialist, and analyze operational data to optimize scheduling and driver performance.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Driver Schedule Analysis: Evaluate driver schedules to identify patterns in call-offs, particularly on weekends, and recommend solutions to improve coverage.
    Floater Group Support: Work closely with the floater group, assisting in their daily operations to understand their role in ensuring smooth logistics flow.
    Shadowing a Specialist: Observe and learn from a Logistics Specialist to understand scheduling complexities, communication with drivers, and issue resolution.
    Window Analysis: Analyze delivery and pickup windows to identify opportunities for optimization and increased efficiency.
    Driver Logs Review: Assess driver logs for compliance, trends, and areas where efficiency improvements can be made.
    Cell Analysis: Examine operational “cells” to understand workload distribution, identify bottlenecks, and propose adjustments.
    Operational Reporting: Compile and present findings to the logistics team, offering data-driven recommendations for improvements.

    Qualifications

    Pursuing a bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field.

    · Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

    · Attention to detail and organizational abilities.

    · Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Tableau.

    · Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    · A strong interest in supply chain management and logistics
