    Job Description

    AECOM is seeking an experienced Program Manager for this exciting opportunity to oversee the long-term management and growth of our Federal portfolio in the Mid-Atlantic, Baltimore-Washington Region. The selected candidate will take over an existing portfolio of large capacity multi-year contracts, work with business line leadership to develop and lead a dedicated project management team, oversee multiple project task orders from an executive level, develop and track pipeline and oversee compliance with regulatory and company standards, regulations, and quality assurance programs.

    The primary responsibilities for the Federal Program Manager include:

    • Manage and lead federal projects and programs, for the Department of State Overseas Bureau, General Services Administration, Social Security Administration, or other Federal Agencies
    • Build and lead successful program management teams
    • Closely collaborate with other Architecture, Engineering, and General Contractor firms
    • Manage and direct professional and technical staff to complete complex architectural and engineering projects
    • Direct and lead teams to achieve contractual performance and financial milestones across the lifespan of multiyear / multitask order contracts
    • Manage aspects of a program such as oversight of project managers, oversight of project controls, or similar
    • Provide direction and oversight to AECOM staff and subcontractors

    Additional responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

    • Analyze financial statements and completes budget tracking
    • The position will work independently and have minimal direction, periodically reporting to internal regional, and Buildings + Places management
    • Oversee the preparation of work plans and organizes project studies
    • Perform complex assignments often requiring the development of unique solutions to problems with the support of the project team
    • Conduct reviews and provide staff feedback for continued improvement
    • Business development responsibilities include the development of pipelines, arranging teaming partnerships, building strategic growth plans, and developing client engagement plans
    • Oversee and develop technical approaches and cost estimates for proposals
    • Prepare, coordinate, and conduct project meetings: Prepare and maintain the agenda and the meeting minutes
    • Help develop and maintain project schedule, project budget and risk register
    • Review Design Documents and Coordinate Design reviews with various stakeholders
    • Manage more complex projects that tend to be larger in scope and dollar

    Minimum Requirements

    • BA/BS in Architecture or Engineering plus eight (8) years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
    • Due to the nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship is required

    Preferred Qualifications

    • 12 years of experience managing projects and programs
    • Licensed PE or RA is highly preferred
    • Familiarity with Federal-Civilian and DoD agencies , installations, missions, and cultures
    • Existing relationship with Federal clients in the Baltimore-Washington Region
    • Experience with Design-Build delivery and partnering with General Contractors
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and Coordinate with multiple stakeholders
    • Ability to communicate at a high level with senior leaders within AECOM and/or the client's organization
    • Familiar with project invoicing and cash flow management
    • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication, both verbal and written skills
    • Superior communication, writing, editing, and reporting skills for a wide variety of audiences
