    Boys & Girls Club – Program Specialist

    Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of young individuals aged 6-12? Are you driven to create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children to thrive? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you!

    Key Responsibilities/Duties:

    As a Program Specialist, you will play a crucial role in administering and enhancing programs and activities for youth within our community. Your responsibilities include:

    • Effective Program Administration: Design and administer a variety of programs and activities catered to the unique needs and interests of youth aged 6-12.
    • Lesson Plan Development: Create innovative and engaging lesson plans, ensuring seamless implementation to captivate the interest of participants.
    • Youth Relationship Building: Develop strong relationships with youth, fostering trust and confidence, and actively recruit them to participate in programs, thereby increasing membership and community engagement.
    • Mentorship Promotion: Guide youth in developing meaningful relationships with role models and mentors, nurturing personal growth and development.
    • Program Promotion: Actively promote youth programs such as Smart Moves, Healthy Habits, Power Hour, Triple Play, among others, to the members at the youth center.
    • Safe and Positive Environment: Ensure the Youth Areas and the entire center maintain a safe, healthy, and positive atmosphere conducive to learning and growth.
    • Policy Adherence: Follow established policies and procedures of the center to maintain a standardized and secure environment.
    • Positive Behavior Modeling: Model and encourage positive and constructive behavior among all members, creating a culture of respect and collaboration.
    • Program Evaluation: Collaborate with the Site Director to monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, making necessary adjustments for continuous improvement.
    • Team Participation: Actively participate in scheduled staff meetings and training sessions to foster a collaborative and supportive work environment.

    Mandated Qualification Requirements:

    • Some experience working with children.
    • Experience working with non-profit organizations.

    Hours of work:

    • Monday- Thursday 2:00pm-7:00pm
    • Friday 11:00am-5:00pm
    • On non-school days and Summer days 12:00pm-5pm
