Dreams for Schools (DFS) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit making science, technology, engineering, and math (STEAM) education approachable and accessible for all. Dreams for Schools cultivates critical thinking and technical skills in youth through inclusive STEAM programs, preparing them for the digital era.
Since 2016, Dreams for Schools has been a leader in after-school STEAM education in Orange County. We partner with numerous school districts, youth-serving organizations, and other entities dedicated to youth development to bring innovative coding, technology, and engineering programs to students. Our collaborative approach allows us to reach a diverse range of young learners, providing them with hands-on experiences that spark curiosity and build confidence in STEAM subjects.

Position Overview:
The Programs Coordinator will be an integral member of the Dreams for Schools team, managing the execution of after-school partnerships and overseeing front-line instructor staff. This role requires collaboration with team members to advance the organization's mission and implement impactful educational programs. The programs coordinator will work with various individuals, community-based organizations, governmental entities, and others to ensure the organization’s programs are implemented and reputation is well served.

Key Duties/Responsibilities:
Coordinate and implement after-school partnerships with K-12 class partners
Manage logistics for after-school activities
Assist in onboarding, training, and recruitment of front-line program staff
Oversee day-to-day needs of classes and front-line instructor staff
Conduct training sessions, performance reviews, and evaluations for program staff
Develop and implement strategies that will maximize program impact in collaboration with staff
Research and conduct outreach to new school and community partners
Represent Dreams for Schools at external events
Evaluate program effectiveness through assessments and measures
Coordinate program showcases and training events
Develop and revise curriculum, presentations, and training materials to train front-line program staff
Provide administrative and program support to the overall team and different roles as needed
Collaborate with other team members to ensure successful program implementation
Manage program-related outreach events and material distribution
Organize programs-related data for reports, grants etc.
Minimum Qualifications:
Commitment to Dreams for Schools’s mission, vision and values
Bachelor’s degree with 2-4 years’ experience in Non-Profit, Technology, or Education Sector
Knowledge of and/or experience with Computer Science and/or Engineering
Excellent interpersonal, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
Strong organizational, communication, and listening abilities
Experience in project management and staff supervision
Passion for technology, education, and digital literacy
Comfortable public speaking and presenting to diverse audiences
Natural collaborator with a track record of achieving results in team settings
Self-motivated leader capable of managing multiple programs and staff
Flexibility to work occasional weekends and adjust schedule as needed
Ability to travel to local school site visits, conferences, meetings and trainings
You must be eligible to work in the United States, have a valid CA Driver's License and reliable transportation with proof of car insurance
Must pass criminal background check as you will engage with staff and children at school sites
Compensation & Benefits:
This position is a full-time position with a salary ranging between $48,000 to $54,000 depending on experience. Typical hours would be Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. with occasional attendance at weekend training required.
Benefits include medical, dental and vision insurance coverages, a hybrid work environment, paid holidays, paid vacation, sick time off and a 401K retirement savings plan. Office is located in Santa Ana, California.
