Leading construction and engineering firm specializing in utility and civil projects is looking for a Junior or Mid-level Accountant. The company has over 3 decades of continued success and has been exponentially growing. In this role you'll be working with a team responsible for Project Accounting. This is a growing team and the manager is dedicated to providing feedback and coaching to help you grow your career!

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with general accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Support job cost tracking and project accounting to ensure accurate financial data for ongoing projects.
• Assist in month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
• Work closely with project managers and other teams to ensure financial accuracy across projects.
• Maintain compliance with revenue recognition standards (ASC 606) and assist with financial statement preparation.
• Support audits and financial reviews as needed.

Requirements:

• 2+ years of accounting experience.
• Experience in the AEC (architecture, engineering, and construction) industry.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency in Excel and accounting software.

Pluses:

• Project accounting experience in a construction or engineering environment.
• Knowledge of ASC 606 revenue recognition principles.
• Experience using Deltek Vantagepoint or similar ERP systems.
