We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Project Architect who will fill a key role responsible for overseeing the design, documentation, and execution of architectural projects from concept through construction. This position requires a blend of design expertise, technical knowledge, and project management skills to deliver high-quality projects while maintaining client relationships and managing team coordination. The ideal candidate is an experienced professional capable of leading small to mid-size commercial and residential projects, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Leadership & Management
- Lead and manage multiple projects from design conception through construction completion.
- Develop project schedules, budgets, and work plans, ensuring alignment with client expectations and strategic firm objectives.
- Serve as the point of contact for clients, design consultants, contractors, and internal teams.
- Coordinate project deliverables with engineering consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Ensure all projects meet quality standards, adhere to contractual obligations, and comply with regulatory requirements.
Architectural Design & Technical Oversight
- Develop and refine project concepts, incorporating innovative and sustainable design solutions.
- Oversee the production of detailed construction documents, specifications, and technical drawings.
- Conduct code analysis and ensure designs comply with zoning, ADA, and building regulations.
- Resolve design and construction issues through coordination with contractors and consultants.
- Develop project manuals as required per project.
- Assist staff in the bidding process as required per project.
- Review submittals, RFIs, and shop drawings to maintain design integrity throughout the construction process.
- Possess a thorough knowledge of contract administration including project closeout procedures.
Team Coordination & Mentorship
- Lead and mentor project teams, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
- Provide guidance and technical expertise to junior architects and designers.
- Facilitate project reviews and critiques per company guidelines to enhance design quality and team development.
- Assign tasks and oversee staff workflow to optimize efficiency and productivity.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Professional degree in Architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch) and active architectural licensure or currently preparing for ARE testing.
- 8+ years of experience in architectural design, project management, and construction administration.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating experience in leading projects across various building types.
- Proficiency in Revit, SketchUp, Bluebeam, Adobe Creative Suite, and project management software, such as Unanet.
- In-depth knowledge of building codes, construction methods, and industry best practices.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
