    Job Description

    AECOM is seeking a creative and highly motivated Architect to join our team in Boston, MA. We offer a wide range of architectural experience performing work throughout the US and internationally. Our Boston, MA location serves as our home office to support national defense-related programs throughout the US and internationally.

    In this role the successful candidate will apply their experience towards supporting the US Army Corps of Engineers for Government Missile Defense Agency Programs and other high-profile clients. We help shape the world around us — from complex building designs such as radar and tactical support facilities, administrative, operation and maintenance facilities to large campus style projects.

    Team Program Managers and Project Managers will act as the primary point of contact with the client and with full responsibility for project delivery.

    The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

    • Responsible for providing architectural guidance, calculations, analysis, studies and recommendations for a specialized segment of the Architectural Discipline within the schedules and budget of an assigned project.
    • May manage various size groups of architects, designers and/or specialists.
    • Develops creative and coherent approaches and design solutions to a wide range of complex problems.
    • Participates in development of documents required at all phases of project design including all phases of construction documents, specifications and construction administration.
    • Develops solutions for a wide range of difficult technical problems and interdisciplinary issues within established project budgets.
    • Ability to work independently and mentor junior staff members.
    • Develops details and edits specifications
    • Adapts and modifies design features under supervision of a Project Manager to meet project specifications.
    • Coordinate with other disciplines during design and construction activities.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Minimum Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree in architecture or related + 6 years of demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
    • Due to the nature of this work, candidate must be a U.S. Citizen.
    • Registered Architect.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • 8+ years of work experience
    • Past experience with DoD projects.
