    ** _ Job Summary_**

    The Intellectual Property (IP) Project Assistant will work primarily with the Advertising & Brand Protection practice group and provide back-up support to the Patents practice group. The IP Project Assistant will work with attorneys and senior members of the IP Practice Support Team to develop their IP prosecution, litigation, diligence, and enforcement skills to handle a wide variety of tasks required by our evolving IP client needs. The IP Project Assistant has a minimum billing requirement of 1600 hours per year.

    ** _ Job Responsibilities_**

    • Prepares draft documents for attorney review and submission.
    • Performs IP searches using US and international databases and in coordination with specialized search vendors.
    • Reviews watch notices and provides initial analysis and summary reports to facilitate attorney review.
    • Drafts client correspondence for attorney review and corresponds directly with clients and foreign agents on a variety of routine and administrative matters under supervision.
    • Conducts legal research using various online resources.
    • Handles various infringement enforcement such as engaging with search and social media platforms and other cease and desist notifications.
    • Maintains and updates case files, pleadings, and relevant documents.

    Requirements:

    ** _ Education_**

    The position requires a Bachelor’s Degree.

    ** _ Experience_**

    Excellent academic performance and experience gained through internships or prior office experience is required.

    ** _ Kn** ** _ owledge, Skills and Abilities**

    • Keen interest in developing a deep understanding of Intellectual Property law especially Trademarks, Copyrights, and brand protection.
    • Ability to proactively research, learn quickly, and become proficient in new legal concepts and using various software applications.
    • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing with attention to detail, including superior spelling and grammar.
    • Ability to carefully and consistently apply instructions as directed by a diverse group of clients, lawyers and staff.
    • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and maintain a productive and committed work effort, meeting deadlines, and managing workload.
    • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) to produce quality written communications such as memos, spreadsheets, slides, and standard work documents.
    • Ability to represent the firm with honesty, integrity, and professionalism, consistently acting in an ethical manner.
    • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing with attorneys, staff and external contacts.
    • Ability to organize and prioritize work in a dynamic and complex environment to meet deadlines and daily requirements.
    • Ability to work effectively, both independently and with others in a cooperative, enthusiastic, and friendly manner to accomplish position functions and participate in team goals.

    Our Firm is committed to fair and equitable compensation practice in accordance with applicable laws. The salary for this position $58,000 per year. Additional compensation may include a discretionary bonus. The salary for this position may vary based on location, market data, an applicant’s skills and prior experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other factors.
