    The Role:

    We're seeking an experienced Project Development Engineer to drive the technical design and engineering aspects of our solar and battery storage projects. Reporting to the Director of Program Development, you'll provide expert oversight throughout the development process, from initial design to handoff for deployment.

    In this role, you'll be responsible for defining critical project parameters including equipment selection, system layout, and interconnection strategies that meet property-specific requirements across diverse jurisdictions and utilities. You'll manage relationships with external engineering partners, reviewing and approving project plansets while ensuring all technical documentation supports successful interconnection and permitting.

    Your coordination skills will be essential as you work with property owners, construction teams, architects, and internal stakeholders to align expectations, secure necessary approvals, and facilitate smooth project transitions. You'll also lead the preparation and submission of interconnection applications and other program documentation crucial for project approval and financing.

    You Are A:

    • Technical expert with a four-year engineering degree and at least 5 years of experience in commercial solar and battery storage project development
    • Design specialist proficient with solar and battery storage design tools such as PVsyst, Helioscope, and Energy Toolbase
    • CAD professional with hands-on experience creating 30% design documents for solar interconnection
    • Project manager capable of coordinating complex design projects and managing relationships with external partners
    • Communication pro with exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate across diverse stakeholder groups
