    Project Engineer (Commercial HVAC) – Your Impact

    You will support HVAC public works projects at every stage, from bidding and preconstruction through project management support to ensure the timely execution and coordination of projects.

    You will:

    • Provide Support for Project Manager, Superintendent and Estimator
    • Assist and Prepare Subcontracts, Change Orders, Purchase Orders and RFI's
    • Compile and Review Submittals, based on Specifications
    • Assist and Prepare Monthly Billings
    • Maintain all Spreadsheets and Project Logs
    • Maintain Electronic Shared Folders
    • Attend and Document Project Meetings
    • Obtain and Submit all As-Builts, Guarantees, Warranties, and Required O&Ms
    • Perform Material Take Offs
    • Communicate with Subcontractors and Vendors to Stay On Schedule and Within Budget

    You will support multiple projects concurrently. You will work in the office and out in the field (estimated 90% of your time will be performed in office and 10% in the field throughout the Bay Area).


    Project Engineer (Commercial HVAC) Required Skills, Experience & Personality Fit

    You are a PE that is excited to grow into a PM role, passionate about the MEP industry. You have:

    • Prior experience in construction project engineering, preferably in HVAC or mechanical
    • Proficiency in Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project or other construction management software
    • Strong understanding of mechanical and plumbing systems, construction schedules, and cost tracking
    • Experience in submittals, RFIs, change orders, and procurement processes
    • Knowledge of San Francisco’s permitting processes and regulatory requirements (desired, not required)
    • Experience with San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC) or other public works projects (desired, not required)
    • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering or related (desired not required)

    Project Engineer (Commercial HVAC) – Benefits, Pay & Career Trajectory for You

    As a Project Engineer, you will have a clear 2-year track to become an Assistant Project Manager (APM), followed by another 2 years to achieve the role of Project Manager (PM). By your fifth year, you should be prepared to lead projects independently as a PM, allowing for long-term stability and career growth within our expanding organization.

    Your compensation will be $93,000 to $95,000 plus additional annual year-end bonus potential based on company, personal and job specific performance.
