Key Skills & Experience:
0-5 years of experience; open to both entry-level and experienced Project Engineers with a passion for mechanical engineering construction projects.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (Mechanical Engineering preferred).
High sense of integrity, business ethics, and professionalism.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Proven ability to build strong relationships and provide exceptional customer service.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including active listening and the ability to follow directions.
Key Responsibilities:
Support project planning and execution by assisting with take-offs, estimating, pricing change directives, job cost forecasting, billing, and project close-out documentation.
Assist in proposal and document preparation, including writing proposals, letters, memos, subcontracts, change orders, and other project-related documents.
Coordinate with internal departments such as accounting, purchasing, engineering, construction, fabrication, and legal to ensure smooth project execution.
Conduct site surveys for retrofit projects, gathering data on energy use, building functions, utility capacity, and structural characteristics to identify improvement opportunities.
Contribute to preliminary design efforts to support budget development and pricing.
Utilize engineering technologies to provide technical support for construction, including planning and design interpretation, value engineering, and alternative solution reviews.
Collaborate with purchasing and construction teams to manage procurement, scope, pricing, submittals, and installation coordination.
Monitor project progress onsite, applying technical expertise to troubleshoot operational and installation challenges.
Manage project documentation and administrative tasks, such as RFIs, submittals, procurement logs, and purchase orders, ensuring timely processing.
Track and coordinate project activities, including labor, material deliveries, and overall costs, to keep the project on schedule and within budget.
Identify and escalate potential challenges, working closely with senior project managers to drive effective solutions.
Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers, and subcontractors through job site meetings, coordination efforts, and proactive communication.
Oversee subcontractor performance, ensuring project expectations and quality standards are met.
Participate in project meetings, including kickoff, progress, and coordination meetings, to align all stakeholders.
Take on additional responsibilities as assigned by supervisors or upper management.
