Butterfly Staffing is currently seeking a talented Project Engineer for this Direct Hire opportunity in Virginia Beach, VA. This role presents an exciting opportunity to join a thriving team dedicated to providing exceptional planning, design, and engineering services. Our client, a prominent engineering consultancy, specializes in delivering innovative solutions across various sectors, including land development, water resources, stormwater, and utility infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
- Playing a pivotal role in the planning and design of projects across the Virginia Region, focusing on land development, stormwater management, and utility infrastructure.
- Ensuring seamless collaboration among project team members and design disciplines to meet key deadlines effectively.
- Providing valuable support for municipal and federal projects, including water quality modeling, stormwater master planning, and Environmental permitting.
- Assisting in feasibility studies preparation, design plans, specifications, and technical documents and cost estimates.
- Contributing to the development of calculation packages essential for optimizing utility systems to include pump rates, total dynamic head, and cycle times.
- Actively engaging with the professional community to enhance the reputation and brand of our client.
- Mentor junior staff members to support their growth and development.
- Addressing Civil design requirements across municipal, industrial, and commercial sectors.
- Conduct site-specific evaluations, assessments, engineering studies, and design proposals for projects of varying size and scope.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5-12 years of progressive experience in land development, water resources, and/or utility design projects.
- Preferential experience in modeling and designing stormwater management systems.
- Registered PE (Civil) in the state of Virginia or the ability to obtain such registration within three months.
- Recent experience in sustainable green infrastructure design.
- Proficiency in assisting Project Managers across multidisciplinary projects.
- Strong work ethic, problem-solving skills, and effective time management abilities.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license.
