Job Overview:
As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the successful completion of custom construction projects from start to finish. Your role is to ensure that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will manage all aspects of the project, including coordination with the client, contractors, and subcontractors, while maintaining excellent communication with all stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, an in-depth understanding of construction processes, and a commitment to quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities & Duties:
Project Planning:
Review contracts, plans, and specifications for clarity on scope, budget, and timelines.
Operate from take offs to stay within budget.
Organize project files (drawings, permits, contracts).
Lead initial meetings with clients and Lead Technicians to set expectations.
Develop project schedules with milestones and start dates.
Coordination & Scheduling:
Assign labor and coordinate schedules for personnel, subcontractors, and vendors.
Procure materials, tools, and equipment.
Schedule inspections and ensure compliance with building codes.
Team Leadership & Communication:
Conduct weekly meetings with clients and lead technicians to review progress and resolve concerns.
Address client concerns promptly.
Collaborate with architects, designers, and engineers for design changes.
Ensure on-site personnel follow safety protocols.
Quality Control & Safety:
Implement quality control procedures and monitor progress.
Conduct regular site visits, resolve issues, and ensure safety.
Report injuries immediately and suspend work if safety concerns arise.
Ensure compliance with local building codes and safety guidelines.
Job Site Management:
Maintain job site organization, cleanliness, and equipment removal upon completion.
Conduct final walk-through with the client for satisfaction.
Coordinate with subcontractors.
Problem-Solving & Issue Resolution:
Resolve schedule delays, material shortages, or labor gaps.
Address conflicts with subcontractors or vendors.
Reporting & Documentation:
Maintain accurate project records and provide regular status updates to the Senior Project Manager and senior staff.
Skills & Qualifications:
Experience:
Minimum 3+ years managing custom construction projects.
Proven ability to manage complex projects on time and within budget.
Technical Skills:
In-depth knowledge of construction processes and materials.
Proficient in project management software (e.g. Sage, Builder trend) and Microsoft Office.
Ability to interpret blueprints and contracts.
Leadership & Communication:
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to lead teams efficiently and safely.
Respectful demeanor and positive communication with subordinates
Give constructive feedback and guidance for team improvement.
Forecast possible obstacles and create solutions.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to spend time on-site, including walking, standing, and lifting.
Ability to work in varying weather conditions and physically demanding environments.
