Title - Project Manager Client – NIH Location - Bethesda, MD
Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to oversee and drive the successful execution of large-scale and complex projects at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, Maryland. This role requires a strategic leader who can manage multiple project aspects, ensuring alignment with NIH’s mission and operational objectives. The ideal candidate will lead cross-functional teams, implement best practices, and ensure seamless project execution while maintaining quality, timeliness, and budgetary constraints.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee all aspects of project management, including scope, schedule, budget, risk, and stakeholder engagement.
Lead and coordinate teams working on large-scale initiatives or significant segments of complex projects.
Analyze and resolve project-related challenges by developing innovative and practical solutions involving technology, methodologies, financial management, and workflow optimization.
Develop long-term and short-term project plans, ensuring alignment with NIH’s strategic goals.
Provide expertise in applications systems analysis, including selection, development, maintenance, and production support.
Ensure compliance with NIH policies, industry regulations, and federal government project management standards.
Manage stakeholder communications, facilitating collaboration between internal teams, external partners, and key government officials.
Track and report project progress, identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
Optimize the use of project management tools, methodologies, and best practices to enhance efficiency and deliverables.
Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
Qualifications & Experience:
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Information Technology, Public Health, or a related field.
Experience:
Proven track record managing large-scale and complex projects within a federal or healthcare setting.
Strong background in technology-driven project management with expertise in software development, infrastructure deployment, or enterprise solutions.
Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning in a project environment.
Familiarity with NIH, HHS, or other federal healthcare organizations is highly desirable.
Certifications (Preferred):
PMP (Project Management Professional)
Agile/Scrum Certification (CSM, SAFe, PMI-ACP, etc.)
ITIL, Six Sigma, or Lean Methodologies
