    Thompson First Group is currently seeking a qualified Project Manager for a local manufacturing client in Emooria, VA.

     

    JOB SUMMARY:

    The Project Manager for Transportation is responsible for leading projects to success from pre-RFQ/Award to the finished goods. The person in this role must ensure that the project KPI’s (time/cost/performance) are being met and maintains open lines of communication with internal/external collaborators. The PM will have to manage multiple accounts and projects which includes assessing various procedures in the production process, including the direct manufacturing facility. We are looking for a self-driven manager who does not mind going the extra mile.

     

    ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    1\. Customer Delivery project Management

    • Manage customer PO delivery - end to end
    • Work closely with Sales & Marketing and Operations teams to coordinate project management activities such as: materials/equipment/cost, project scope and delivery dates
    • Act as the point of contact and communicate project status to all project members
    • Ensure standards and requirements of the project are met
    • Identify potential risks specific to company projects and develop strategies to mitigate them
    • Monitor RM levels in warehouse to satisfy PO requirements

    2\. Client Support

    • Schedule and lead vendor/client calls to keep line of communication flowing smoothly, as well as managing internal team member communications including requests, alerts, reminders, etc.
    • Problem resolution
    • Address client concerns and ensure the resolution of issues in a timely manner
    • Collaborate with internal teams to deliver solutions that meet client expectations
    • Follow up on requests for response until closure
    • Manage project management meetings and communication cadences with customers
    • Manage customer visits and audits
    • Manage customer service trips
    • Raw Material Analysis

    3\. Solicitations

    • RFQ/Pre-Award
    • Technical Data Custodian
    • Retrieve solicitation and associated Technical Data Package (TDP) from clients
    • Manage Brand Folders and company Brand FAT reports
    • Manage SOL/RFQ Folder with TDP
    • Conduct RFQ/SOL feasibility review and initiate contract review process
    • Launch Engineering review process and BOM & Labor template preparations
    • Launch QA Review process to determine FAT/PCT and all QA testing requirements and associated costs
    • Launch purchasing RFQ activity
    • Initiate project specific raw materials analysis (such as frames, gaskets, etc.) and quote with procurement based on TDP
    • Bid preparation
    • Validate BOM and component pricing is correct
    • Verify proposal quote is within company profit margins
    • Complete bid template (E07) for VP Marketing review
    • Manage technical communication with customers in relation to Bids/RFQ
    • Post Award
    • Follow up on PO review process together with KAM.
    • Initiate kickoff meeting with company stakeholders to start the project
    • Manage project tasks and timelines to complete all FAT and testing project deliverables (via SAR weekly meeting or any other necessary format)
    • Verify QA and Production Control requirements for the project
    • Maintain key Project Management KPIs to manage and review project performances, such as delivery, budget, quality
    • Support Customer requests for support and documentation
    • Manage FAT reports per customer requirements
    • Submit Engineering Change Request RFVs/Modifications
    • Facilitate technical discussions with clients
    • Data Entry

    4\. Reporting

    • Conduct and manage weekly meetings with production control to review open statue reports and past due
    • Prepare project related reports including expenses/profit margin, project letters, recurring reports and CDRLs, as well as maintaining comprehensive project documentation, plans, and reports.
    • Prepare weekly project reports, plans, progress, issue mitigation and results to Executive Team; responds to inquiries for ongoing and potential projects
    • Verify customer requirements associated with contracts are in compliance (PFMAS, high risk items, regulations)
    • Collaboration
    • Work closely with internal teams, including sales, marketing, and product development to ensure client satisfaction
    • Coordinate with other account managers to align on best practices and strategies
    • Logistics
    • Verify that all shipments are allocated to the correct CO and shipped to the correct address
    • Verify all shipments are on time. Inform Key Account Manager on changes in delivery schedules and/or delays
    • Budget Management
    • Manage project P&L

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/SKILL SET

    1. Bachelor’s degree in science – advantage
    2. Proven experience in project management - minimum 10 year’s experience in multi-tasking project environment
    3. Manufacturing experience
    4. Proficient in AutoCAD
    5. Proficient in SolidWorks - Advantage
    6. Ability to manage multiple projects and clients simultaneously
    7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PPT
    8. Service and customer orientated- 10 years minimum working with customers
    9. Experience with ERP systems- 10 years minimum
