    Job Description

    The Project Site Safety Manager is a subject matter expert in project site safety, focusing on the development, implementation, and monitoring/enforcement of best practices for construction safety. This role is crucial for ensuring the safety of our San Francisco airport project site, which involves the installation, start-up, and commissioning of our automated baggage handling solutions. The Project Site Safety Manager will work closely with the project team and customers to ensure a safe working environment and successful project delivery outcomes.

    ** Responsibilities**

    • Develop and implement a safety program centered on best practices for construction safety at project sites.
    • Prepare and maintain key safety documents, policies and procedures.
    • Review subcontractor's safety documents.
    • Monitor and enforce compliance with safety program
    • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
    • Develop and deliver safety training programs specific to the project site activities.
    • Investigate incidents and accidents at project sites to determine root causes and implement preventive measures.
    • Collaborate with the project team and other stakeholders to integrate safety considerations into project planning and execution.
    • Liaise with customer representatives to ensure mutual understanding of, alignment on, and compliance with site safety standards and practices. Coordinate with the project team and other stakeholders for early identification of change order opportunities in relation to extraordinary customer requirements relating to project site safety.
    • Take the lead in resolving customer safety concerns in relation to BEUMER activities on site.
      Salary Range: 105,000-130,000 Annually
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    ** Requirements / Skills / Abilities**

    • Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, environmental science, or a related field. Professional certification in health and safety (e.g., CSP, CIH) is preferred. CPR/AED and First Aid certification is required. OSHA 30 certification is required.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a field safety management role within the construction or material handling industry.
    • Strong knowledge of construction safety regulations and standards, including OSHA standards for design and construction.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software.
    • This role has no direct reports but requires strong leadership and influence skills to drive a culture of safety and accountability at project sites.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of key safety documents including risk assessments, method statements, incident reports, hazard identification checklists, emergency action plan, OSHA record keeping forms, permit-to-work systems and training and qualification records.

    The Project Site Safety Manager must be able to safely navigate and work in various physical environments, including:

    • Climbing ladders and stairs
    • Walking over uneven surfaces
    • Working on narrow catwalks
    • Performing tasks at heights exceeding six feet
