    ORGANIZATION: Project for Pride in Living (PPL)

    DEPARTMENT: Development & External Affairs

    PROGRAM: Grants

    SUPERVISOR/S: Grant Manager

    SCHEDULE: 10-20 hours per week through December 2022, weekday business hours

    FLSA STATUS: Temporary, Part-time, $16/hr

    SITE: Temporary remote work environment with some flexibility (PPL’s Administrative Center is located at 1035 E. Franklin Ave., Minneapolis, MN 55404)

    SUMMARY:  

    Use your skills and passion for positive change at PPL, a Twin Cities’ leading affordable housing and career readiness nonprofit. This unique position within PPL’s Development & External Affairs Department blends database support, grant writing, and administration on behalf of our Grants program. Get hands-on experience in these areas and build your professional network working at a high-capacity, results-driven organization with a strong commitment to equity.     RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Develop and submit grant requests and reports with support, and draft grant acknowledgment letters when needed.
    • Support grants team in proposal submissions, such as editing proposals, organizing attachments, and reviewing grant packages.
    • Collaborate with staff on the Development & External Affairs team and across the organization to develop grant applications and reports.
    • Organize grant writing resources and files.
    • Conduct grant prospect research.
    • Work directly in Raiser’s Edge (a widely used contact management database used at PPL) to assist with grants data entry.
    • Participate in staff meetings, team meetings, and planning meetings with program staff, including conversations to advance race equity.
    • Additional duties as assigned to support the Development & External Affairs team and further the PPL mission.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:                                          

    • Demonstrated commitment to race equity and mission-driven work.
    • Strong writing and editing skills, ability to write clearly and persuasively.
    • Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously to meet deadlines.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
    • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
    • Self-starter and self-directed with the ability to work independently on assigned projects.
    • Experience with data entry and/or databases.
    • Professional growth opportunity for individuals interested in fields related to professional writing, fundraising, nonprofit management, data/evaluation, and social justice.
    • Gain practical experience in database administration and grant writing for a large multi-service nonprofit.
