  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    • Coordinate and monitor construction activities for Capital Projects, ensuring effective communication between contractors and construction teams.
    • Demonstrate a strong focus on Health, Safety and the Environment by complying with policies, promoting safety awareness, and participating in safety initiatives.
    • Lead surface civil construction activities, supervise civils contractors, and ensure project schedule and budget objectives are met.
    • Prepare Project Execution Plans, develop engineering scopes of work, and liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure business needs are met.
    • Manage project costs, prepare capital cost estimates, and monitor budgets to ensure they are not exceeded without proper authority.
    • Establish and maintain scheduling systems for construction projects, actively supervise works, and mitigate schedule risks.
    • Ensure all activities are completed to specified standards and meet end-users' requirements.
    • Cultivate a culture of accountability within the Civils team and maintain effective people management and team-building practices.
    • Manage the flow of technical information between engineering disciplines and stakeholders involved in capital projects.
    • Prepare weekly reports on all projects and communicate with relevant stakeholders.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • High School diploma or GED; Trades or Engineering qualifications highly regarded
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in project management and supervision, including risk management and mitigation
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively in cross-cultural environments
    • Proven track record of delivering results and meeting project objectives
    • Excellent planning, organizing, and prioritization capabilities
    • Proficiency in MS Office and project management software
    • Ability to interpret and communicate technical information to various stakeholders
    • Experience in civil project development and controls
    • Self-motivated with a hands-on approach to managing staff, contractors, and projects
