    Job Description

    QA Engineers are responsible for the testing and verification of Prometheus Group software at a high level and ensure that the customer receives only the highest quality product. The QA Engineer should have a solid understanding of basic standard testing practices, as well as overall testing and development processes.

    At Prometheus Group, the QA Engineer is not a cog in a machine, but a highly valued member of a small but rapidly growing team. Working in a dynamic start up-like environment, the QA Engineer will help grow the QA team into a more valuable department by helping identify inefficiencies and strengthen existing processes.

    This position will be a mix of manual and automated testing and will focus primarily on our mobile offerings.

    Daily responsibilities of an QA Engineer include:

    • Learn testing techniques relevant to a specific team (SAP, Mobile, Web)
    • Test various aspects of assigned software from a functional, regression, and integration standpoint
    • Maintain the outcome of their work in the development tracking system (Redmine)
    • Maintain test outlines that describe the intended functionality of, and recommended test cases for, Prometheus Group solutions
    • Maintain full control of assigned test requests and ensure completion by required deadlines
    • Create and maintain test data
    • Support the Professional Services team when engaged
    • Work with developers and management to identify and mitigate risks to quality
    • Day-to-day supervision of other QA positions where necessary

    Career Tracks 

    As a QA Engineer, you will have two options, continuing forth with testing and verification, or making a switch to development. The next natural position for a QA Engineer is Senior QA Engineer. The indicated skills, and the growth thereof, should be the main focus of periodic reviews with your manager, whether bi-weekly or semi-annually.

    QA Senior QA Engineer

    • Software engineering practices, including Agile-like testing modules
    • White-box learning how the full-stack of a team’s software works
    • Advanced SAP usage in core modules
    • Test outline creation and maintenance
    • Development of new testing vectors

    Development Associate Developer

    • Familiarity with the following development concepts:
      • Object-oriented programming (Java, C#, C++)
      • Web development (JSP, HTML5, CSS3, JS)
      • Mobile development (iOS, Android, Windows Mobile)
      • Databases (SQL) and SOA (REST/SOAP)
    • White-box learning how the full-stack of a team’s software works
    • Basic SAP usage in core modules
