Job Summary This hybrid position of Propane Transloader and Service Technician is responsible for the technical work of offloading LPG railcars into transports, record keeping, quality control, and maintenance, set up and break down of gantries, performing QA and vapor recovery, as they pertain to transloading. Main Service Technician responsibilities include reviewing orders prior to delivery, loading and unloading product and equipment, performing tank installations, removals and servicing, performing safety and leak checks, and timely propane delivery to customers on scheduled routes, while ensuring compliance with codes and safety policies and providing exceptional customer service to our customers.
Responsibilities
· Responsible for inspections of railcars and other equipment to ensure proper and safe operating conditions
· Responsible to properly lock out a rail spur and perform HAZMAT rail operations
· Conduct FRA procedures of receipt and release of railcars
· Conducts railcar transfer preparation, including installing bolt-on/bolt-off fittings, making hose connections and taking product samples
· Operates loading systems and conducts numerous transfers from tank to railcar each day
· Responsible for safely and efficiently working control valves to facilitate the flow from railcar to the pipeline and/or truck
· May inspect and perform maintenance on gantries and other equipment
· Operates and maintains service vehicle in accordance with company and government regulations
· Inspects, prepares, loads, unloads, and operates delivery vehicle
· Accurately documents and maintains written logs, records, reports
· Responsible for safety checks and leak detection
· Installs, troubleshoots and services tanks, equipment and appliances
· Runs lines and conducts tests and identifies leaks
· Installs, removes, services, inspects, and repairs propane tanks
· Install piping and tanks, final connection to pre-installed equipment, appliance installs, gas check inspections, maintenance cleaning, removal of old propane tanks
· Attends to service calls for no heat, no hot water, etc
· Operates crane to load trucks and move tanks at customer locations
· Provides excellent customer service to all clients and potential clients and collects payments
· Is flexible in performing job duties while maintaining safety protocols
· May be required to work nights, weekends, and holidays
Qualifications · Class A Drivers License Required
· CETP certification preferred
· Two (2) years driving experience
· Two (2) years of rail/transloading experience
· Two (2) years of experience with crane, winch, and generator operation
· Must meet DOT requirements
· Must meet FRA requirements
