    IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Corporate Controller

    Accounting is the key member of the corporate team. This role is instrumental in managing the effective maintenance of books and records, recording of transactions and accruals, cashflow and providing timely and accurate financial reporting.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    Full cycle accounting duties on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis with the primary goal of providing accurate monthly income statements and balance sheets for assigned portfolio.

    Daily email review includes assisting onsite managers with day-to-day accounting queries.

    Daily review of invoices within an external portal for approval and batching to primary accounting software.

    Perform bank reconciliations for assigned portfolio bank accounts. Review weekly bank reconciliations prepared by 3rd party. Research and post any transactions not recorded to reconcile.

    Process and/or review accounting transactions within assigned portfolio through journal entries and invoicing. This includes reviewing any items that the accounting department is responsible for the accuracy of, including property-related expenses such as maintenance, utilities, insurance, and property taxes. Ensure that expenses are properly allocated and coded.

    Maintaining accounting records by making copies; filing or scanning electronic documents into the accounting software to attach as supporting documentation for transactions.

    Processing utility billing for properties in assigned portfolio.

    Prepare and assist in the processing of lender reimbursement requests.

    Assist senior accounting personnel with any tasks conducted within the accounting department, or any tasks that require accounting personnel expertise.

    Reviewing notes from management to post monthly accruals and reversals as needed for financial statements.

    Reviewing assigned portfolio financials on a weekly/monthly basis. Reconcile financial discrepancies and variances. Finalizing assigned portfolio’s monthly financials for the Controller to review by a specified deadline.

    Meet deadlines for tasks in assigned portfolio.

    Help identify issues that may arise within assigned portfolio.

    Compiling ad hoc reports as needed.

    Qualifications:

    Property Management or similar industry experience preferred.

    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

    Strong written and verbal communication skills.

    Strong understanding of accounting principles, accruals and reversals, income statements, and balance sheets.

    Experience with accounting software systems (required).

    Must have Excel, Word, Email, data entry and general computer skills.

    Associate Degree in Accounting (minimum) or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (preferred) with at least one year’s experience as a full cycle accountant.

    DRIVING/TRAVELING REQUIREMENTS

    Minimal need (5% to 10% of the time) to utilize personal transportation to make trips to the bank, visit the properties, and run related errands. May apply.

    Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance.

    Must have and maintain access to street legal, reliable transportation.
