We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our growing behavioral health team.

Job Overview: The PMHNP will provide psychiatric care to patients, including comprehensive evaluations, diagnosis, treatment planning, and medication management. This role will work collaboratively with our mental health team to deliver exceptional patient care within our clinic, focusing on a holistic, patient-centered approach. This is an in-person position based at our clinic in Ardmore, Oklahoma.
Responsibilities:
Provide direct psychiatric care to GSCC patients within the scope of practice.
Conduct comprehensive evaluations, taking medical histories, recording results, and making preliminary diagnoses.
Prescribe, recommend, or discontinue medications and other treatments to treat mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders, in line with state guidelines, clinic regulations, and standards of care.
Examine or order laboratory or diagnostic tests to assess the patient’s overall condition and mental health.
Develop and implement personalized treatment plans, educating and counseling patients on mental health conditions and treatment options.
Collaborate with psychiatrists, counselors, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
Refer patients to other physicians or mental health providers when necessary.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system, ensuring timely chart closures (within 24-48 business hours) to facilitate efficient billing processes.
Assist in clinic quality improvement initiatives by incorporating quality outcome indicators and participating in quality improvement studies.
Participate in case conferences, team meetings, and patient satisfaction reviews to enhance the quality of care.
Ensure care is aligned with quality standards (HRSA, PCMH, CMS), and assist in the development of psychiatric medical care protocols and procedures.
Foster long-term, trust-based relationships with patients, working with diverse social and economic situations in a compassionate, non-judgmental manner.
Qualifications:
Essential:
1+ years of experience providing direct psychiatric care to adults and youth/child populations.
Graduate of an accredited nurse practitioner program specializing in psychiatry/mental health.
Current certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
Licensed to practice in the state of Oklahoma.
Possess or be able to obtain a valid DEA and OBNDD license.
Familiarity with EHR systems and proficiency in documentation.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care.
Experience working within a multidisciplinary team and knowledge of quality standards and metrics (HRSA/PCMH/CMS).
Preferred:
Experience in telemedicine.
1+ years experience providing direct patient care to persons receiving treatment for psychiatric disorders
Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform patient care duties, including standing for extended periods, lifting, and performing CPR if necessary.
