Job Summary: The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) at Paving the Way Multi-Service Institute (PTWMSI) provides psychiatric care, including evaluations, diagnoses, treatment, and medication management. This part-time position allows autonomy and flexibility while adhering to the organization's values and clinical standards. Responsibilities include developing individualized treatment plans, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and offering staff consultation. Key Responsibilities:
Conduct psychiatric evaluations and develop treatment plans.
Prescribe and manage medications for mental and behavioral disorders.
Provide crisis response and medication assessments for clients.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver holistic care.
Educate and consult with staff, clients, and families on treatment and medication.
Maintain thorough documentation in electronic medical records (EHR).
Option to practice psychotherapy alongside medication management.
Qualifications:
Licensed Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in Washington, DC.
Certification from a recognized body such as the American Nurses Association.
Unrestricted APRN license with prescriptive authority.
DEA and Controlled Substance licenses.
Must maintain own malpractice insurance.
Key Skills:
Proficient in DSM-5 diagnoses and therapeutic interventions.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and in collaboration with a team.
Proficient in EHR systems, MS Word, Excel, and Google apps.
Preferred Experience:
Experience consulting with primary care physicians.
Experience working with pediatric and adult mental health populations.
Work Hours: Part-time contract position with flexible hours, ideal for balancing clinical practice and other responsibilities.
