We are seeking a dedicated, part-time Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our outpatient behavioral health team in Bourne, MA. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by providing essential mental health care within a supportive and collaborative environment. The NP will conduct psychiatric assessments, diagnostic procedures, and work closely with our supervising physician to ensure the highest standards of patient care.
Essential Job Functions / Responsibilities:
Maintain comprehensive patient records, including nurse’s notes, medication logs, physician order forms, assessments, and other documentation.
Prescribe psychotropic medications following established prescriptive guidelines.
Participate actively in treatment planning sessions, clinical case reviews, and in-service training.
Adhere to the professional staff code of ethics..
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Knowledge, Experience, and Skills Required:
Education:
Completion of a Board-approved Master’s or post-master’s Nurse Practitioner program.
Experience:
Demonstrated experience conducting evaluations, diagnostic procedures, and treatments within the NP’s area of expertise.
Strong knowledge of behavioral health, with a commitment to providing treatment consistent with professional standards of care.
Higher reimbursement for those who work with children 5 and over.
Skills:
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, particularly in working with behavioral health patients.
Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) and general computer literacy.
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:
Current licensure as a Psych Nurse Practitioner in Massachusetts.
National certification from an accrediting body approved by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing.
Valid and unrestricted certification with the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and the Massachusetts Controlled Substance Registration Board.
