Job Description: The Psychiatric Provider at a Mental Health Facility will deliver comprehensive psychiatric care, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with mental health disorders. The role involves working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the delivery of high-quality mental health services.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Care:
Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and assessments to diagnose mental health conditions.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
Prescribe and manage medications, ensuring proper use and monitoring for side effects.
Provide psychotherapy or coordinate with other therapeutic services as needed.
Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
Collaboration and Teamwork:
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
Participate in case conferences, treatment planning meetings, and team discussions.

Documentation and Compliance:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in accordance with regulatory and facility standards.
Ensure all documentation complies with legal and ethical standards for confidentiality and patient care.
Adhere to all facility policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Professional Development:
Stay current with advancements in psychiatry and mental health treatment.
Participate in continuing education and professional development opportunities.
Mentor and supervise medical students, residents, or other healthcare professionals as appropriate.
Quality Improvement:
Engage in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and facility operations.
Contribute to the development and implementation of evidence-based practices and clinical guidelines.
Qualifications:
Education:
Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) with a specialization in psychiatry, or
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
Licensure:
Valid state license to practice as an NP, PA, MD, or DO.
Certification:
Board certification in Psychiatry for MD/DO, or
Certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) for NPs.
Experience:
Previous experience in a mental health setting is preferred.
Skills:
Strong clinical skills in psychiatric assessment and treatment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
Work Environment:
The position is based in a mental health facility, which may include inpatient, outpatient, or residential treatment settings.
