Qualifications:
- Education: MD/DO degree from an accredited institution (required).
- Licensure: Active Indiana medical license (required); Board Certification in General Psychiatry (required).
- Experience: Completion of an accredited psychiatry residency (required); prior hospital or severe mental illness care experience.
- Technical Skills: Expertise in psychiatric assessments, diagnosis, and medication management
- Soft Skills: Strong leadership for interdisciplinary collaboration; Excellent communication for patient/family education; Empathy and adaptability in high-stakes environments
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations, diagnose mental disorders, and prescribe treatment plans.
- Lead interdisciplinary treatment teams and develop individualized care strategies.
- Provide patient and family education on mental health conditions and therapies.
- Collaborate with psychologists, social workers, and nurses to optimize care delivery.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Participate in continuing education, hospital committees, and program development.
- Supervise medical students and support their clinical training (as needed).
