    Compensation: $150 - 180 hourly

    ** Overview: Nexus HR is looking for a Psychiatrist for a reputable clinic in San Leandro, CA. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in psychiatric care and a proven ability to evaluate, diagnose, and manage mental illnesses effectively.**

    About the Job

    Provide compassionate care and treatment needed for patients’ mental health well-being and other relevant aspects of mental health. Identify possible mental health issues; diagnose and provide treatment plans accordingly through therapies medications, or a combination of both. Refer patients to other allied medical and non-medical professionals to provide holistic care.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Evaluate, diagnose, and manage mental illness and prescribe and review appropriate medications

    • Assess the condition of clients, from admission to an ongoing basis‬‬

    • Develop and facilitate individualized medical treatment care plans

    • Develop a therapeutic relationship with clients‬‬

    • Successfully de-escalate situations regarding clients in psychiatric or emotional emergencies

    • Perform administrative functions such as clinical charting and medication records‬‬

    • Collaborate with physicians, psychologists, mid-levels, social workers, and other professionals to discuss treatment plans and progress ‬

    • Work collaboratively and respectfully with an integrated team of MDs, NPs, social workers,

    • nurses, medical assistants, and support staff.

    • May act as collaborating physician/clinical supervisor for psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

    • Knowledge of principles and practices of modern clinical psychiatry, including abnormal psychology, diagnostic interviewing, community psychology, and community mental health

    • Determine the diagnostic and therapeutic techniques needs of individual situations, take effective course of action, and follow through with effective treatment plans

    • Culturally competent and able to work with a diverse population

    • Knowledge of psychological trauma, its effects on individuals and systems, and best practice treatment preferred

    • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients and staff of all backgrounds and at all levels

    Qualifications:

    • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills

    • Ability to learn new EMR software

    • Board Certified in psychiatry, at least one year of experience as a licensed psychiatrist

    • Active California Medical License issued by the Medical Board of California

    • Completion of a Psychiatry Residency

    • Active California Medical License issued by the Medical Board of California or the Osteopathic Medical Board of California

    • Current California Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) certificate in good standing

    • Malpractice insurance (if contracted with locum)

    Schedule:

    • Monday to Friday, 30 hours per week

    • Must be able to work for at least 6 months, preferably at least one year

    • Clinical caseload of up to 25 patients a day
