Orange County Health Psychologists seeks a psychiatrist to join our thriving, highly regarded group practice of 50+ licensed behavioral health clinicians providing approximately 40,000 patient visits per year. We offer individual, couples, and family psychotherapy, testing and assessment, EMDR, Virtual Reality Therapy, ketamine assisted psychotherapy, yoga and somatic therapies, and clinical health psychology specialties to a relatively high-functioning patient base. We seek a Psychiatrist who is dedicated to the highest standards of care, employs a patient-centric and holistic approach to medicine, and works well within an existing group practice infrastructure.
The candidate we seek might be looking for an opportunity to:
· Practice 1-2 days a week in an established group practice;
· Perform medical intake and eligibility assessments for KAT dosing and administration;
· Conduct initial brain mapping for TMS services;
· Segue to the development and leadership of a medical division; building a team of prescribing providers and expanded service offerings.
Responsibilities and Duties:
· Perform initial consultations and general psychiatric evaluations; diagnose patient conditions and prepare treatment plans; conduct medication management and routine follow-up psychiatric services; and perform other specialized services, as needed.
· Collaborate effectively with behavioral health group colleagues to optimize high quality care and treatment outcomes.
· Provide direct in-office patient services one day a week or more.
· Prescribe, administer and/or manage medication and oversee dosing of KAT.
· Conduct initial brain mapping session for TMS services (training provided)
· Optional: Supervise Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants
Qualifications and Skills:
· MD and a current, unrestricted license to practice as a psychiatrist in California
· Board Certified
· Current, unrestricted DEA registration
· 5+ years of clinical medical practice
· Competency in adolescents or geriatrics a plus
· Aptitude for supervision and mentoring other behavioral health providers
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills with superior interpersonal and leadership skills
· Superb judgment, problem solving, and cognitive skills
· Commitment to best practices and integrated, collaborative health care
