SOS Personnel is seeking to hire a Public Health Nutritionist.
The ideal candidate will:
Perform outpatient clinical duties in varying locations throughout the facility, based on patient need, to include the Fast Track/Emergency Department, Family Medicine outpatient clinics, Internal Medicine outpatient clinics and the Health Education Center.
Perform diabetes education on the inpatient occasionally as requested by consult.
Exhibit behavior that is positive and displays a willingness to perform assigned patient care tasks and to be a team player.
Have a full and unrestricted license in all states in which licenses are held.
Have no criminal arrests or convictions.
Have never been terminated early from a Locums Assignment due to behavior or quality of care concerns.
Place of Performance:
Navajo Area Indian Health Service (NAIHS), Shiprock Service Unit - Northern Navajo Medical Center (NNMC) within the State of New Mexico.
Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. – five days a week.
Qualification Requirements:
A current registered dietician license. The ideal Have a full and unrestricted license in all states in which licenses are held
At least a 2-year experience of diabetes education, individual counseling and group education of all ages including gestational diabetes. The diabetes education experience shall include utilizing professional skills and clinical experience to assess and educate patients on the necessary lifestyle changes involved in diabetes prevention, treatment of diabetes, medical nutrition therapy, medications used in the treatment of diabetes, knowledge of physical activity recommendations, glucose testing using (capillary testing) glucose monitors, and continuous glucose monitoring systems.
Certification as a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist is preferred.
Valid state driver’s license
Immunization.
Flu vaccination is REQUIRED.
Vaccination against SARS-COV-2
Language Requirements and Cultural Awareness. The contractor key personnel shall read, understand, speak, and write English to effectively communicate with patients and other health care workers, and shall be respectful of the local, American Indian and Alaska Native culture.
Information Technology Skills. The contractor key personnel shall possess basic knowledge, skills, and abilities to use a computer.
