    Vertical Entertainment is a leading global independent film distributor active across all mediums and providing a unique combination of full-service marketing and highly effective sales support.

    Position : Public Relations and Media Coordinator

    Reports To : Head of Publicity

    Overview : T he Public Relations Coordinator has responsibility for supporting the Public Relations team of the company, and contributing to the strategic planning, placement, and execution of paid and earned media campaigns for Vertical titles. This position is expected to communicate at all levels within the PR/Marketing department and across the organization.

    Primary Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

    Public Relations Support

    • Assist in the publicity campaigns for 4 to 6 films per month, including agency management, filmmaker and talent relations, and ensuring widespread film awareness via digital, broadcast, social, print, radio, and grassroots initiatives.
    • Manage budgets for publicity campaigns (proposing initial budgets, updating budgets, tracking invoices, submitting invoices for payment, collecting payment details and W9s, and communicating payment ETA to vendors).
    • Assist with creation of company decks for Theatrical, Distribution, and Sales
    • Assist in the execution of film premieres with masterful precision in booking limos, creating talent schedules, arranging hotels, and negotiating with glam artists
    • Arrange hotels, flights, cars, airport greeters and more for talent and filmmakers for award shows, festivals, and other appearances
    • Draft synopses for each film to be used by PR, marketing, sales, and ops/delivery
    • Create social media toolkits (2 or 3 per film for trailer, Theatrical, VOD dates for approximately 45 films per year)
    • Answer filmmaker communications and emails
    • Arrange poster shipments for premieres, producers, festivals, and Q&A sessions

    Marketing Support

    • Manage the Vertical YouTube channel and all social channels, coordinating with contracted agencies to build the company's online presence
    • Update marketing trackers with release dates, art, trailer, credits, synopses, film links, clips, then route internally and externally as needed
    • Assist in set up for 360 media buys including arranging access to social accounts, supplying trailer files and copy suggestions, and more
    • Assist Marketing with design changes for key art and set up resizing of artwork for each film with our vendor (about 100 files to be created per film, for 90+ films a year) requiring strong experience in Photoshop

    Qualifications :

    • Minimum of 2-4 years of relevant practical experience in public relations for a media, distribution, entertainment and/or streaming company required

    • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead cross-functional teams and collaborate with external counterparts

    • Bachelor's degree in public relations, journalism, communications, marketing, or another relevant field required

    • Exceptional technical, organizational, verbal and written communication skills with a demonstrated knowledge of press release guidelines and social media trends

    • Intermediate to Expert skill level with MS Word, Power Point, and other programs in the Microsoft Office suite

    • Working knowledge of Public Relations best practices, brand management, and media strategies

    • The ability to collaborate with personnel and members of the media
