  • Responsibilities

    Our client is a Texas State Agency looking for a Purchaser to work in the Financial Services Division.

    This job performs routine purchasing and procurement work and will involve purchasing and procuring commodities, equipment, and services in accordance with guidelines, rules, policies, and laws of the state agency.

    This is a 6-month contract role slated for an immediate start with the potential for extension and permanent placement. This role is 2 days WFH and 3 days on-site in downtown Austin, TX. ( You must reside in Austin or the commutable area )

    Responsibilities:

    • Requisitions and orders supplies, computer equipment, furniture, etc
    • Audits invoices and checks for accuracy, receipt of material, and compliance with purchase orders.
    • Tracks the status of requisitions and purchase orders.
    • Processes receipts of purchases.
    • Review bids and purchase orders to verify accuracy, terminology, and specifications.
    • Assists with conducting a needs assessment to determine requirements.
    • Assists with the distribution of bid invitations to vendors.
    • Assists with reviewing and tabulating bids and orders to determine the best value and fit.
    • Assists with negotiating settlement complaints and resolving disputes.
    • Assists in ensuring compliance with purchasing laws, rules, and regulations.
    • Assists with developing solicitations, contracts, and contract amendments.
    • Assists with monitoring contract performance.

    Qualifications

    • Two (2) years of experience in finance or accounting ( A Degree preferred).

    Bonus points

    • A degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related major.
    • Experience with Centralized Accounting Payroll/Personnel System (CAPPS) Financials;
    • Any state or local government experience
    • Experience with Uniform Statewide Accounting System (USAS).
