Lindsay Windows is a leader in vinyl replacement and new construction windows with 7 locations nationwide. We source materials from reputable suppliers who have the same commitment to quality as we do. Our team supports core processes for all 7 locations and is searching for an experienced Purchasing Agent to join with us in our commitment to making exceptional windows. This is an on-site position located at the North Mankato, MN facility.
Key duties include:
· Place purchase orders based on system generated suggestions and understanding of operations.
· Set and follow lead times, minimums, maximums, lot size, safety stock, etc. to optimize efficiency of purchasing and inventory carrying costs!
· Review overages and outages!
· Respond to invoice issues!
· Facilitate inter-company transfers/purchase orders!
· Partner with locations to achieve accurate monthly and period inventory cycle counts.
· Review and correct inventory valuation reports at month-end.
· Facilitate production orders being met /communicating changes to order status to all team members.
· Estimate value and price based on market knowledge.
· Confer with vendors to obtain product or service information, such as price delivery and schedule.
· Review bills of material for accuracy and suggest/make changes, as necessary.
· Discuss defective or unacceptable goods with team members and vendors.
· Maintains relationships with the suppliers.
· Assures compliance with regulatory standards.
Providing cost savings ideas on a regular basis
Additional duties assigned by department manager as required by business needs.
2-5 years’ experience with materials/purchasing in a high-volume manufacturing environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
APICS certification a plus.
Must be a team player.
Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite.
