    Job Summary :

    Develop and assist the implementation of the overall Supply Chain strategy to optimize profitability.

    Job Description :

    Core areas of responsibility are:

    Responsible for efficient purchasing of inventory, supplies, and capital equipment. Receives purchase requisitions and verifies for accuracy and authorization(s). Periodically evaluates vendors/suppliers and advises Supply Chain Supervisor when vendors are not meeting requirements. Evaluates and recommends new/substitute vendors, when necessary.

    Prepares and issues purchase orders; determines and negotiates prices, delivery, and credit terms; buys according to established company policies and procedures; maintains accurate purchasing records.

    Responsible for evaluating, assessing, and selecting vendors based on capabilities, performance, and consistent quality. Maintains rapport and good working relationships with vendors; keeps accurate vendor records.

    Evaluates inventory reorder levels and quantity price breaks to determine most economical purchasing of inventory and supplies in relationship to company’s cost of capital. Prepares monthly reports and reviews forecast of purchasing commitments with Supply Chain Supervisor.

    Expedites purchase orders as necessary and ensures delivery of purchased items for uninterrupted production flow.

    Performs other purchasing or inventory control duties as necessary or as requested.

    Follows all safety protocols and processes.

    Build and nurture good collaboration and coordination between all teams

    Assist with analysis of department KPIs.

    Skills, competences, and knowledge to perform the work

    Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university

    Preferably 3+ years of experience with logistics and procurement or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Purchasing within an industrial setting preferred.

    MS-Excel proficiency is a must as well as knowledge and experience in handling automated PO processes and warehouse control (CMMS, Dynamics 365 technology as an example)

    Solid organization, analytical and time-management skills.

    Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    Detail oriented and support and service oriented

    Willingness to collaborate with team members

    Ability to work in complex multi-tasking environments

    Constant desire to learn and grow.

    Work Environment This job operates in a combined office and farm/production and construction environment.

    Schedule

    General work schedule is Monday through Friday with some flexibility. Based on the nature of this role, standard hours may exceed 40 hours a week.
