Opportunity
The Purchasing Associate is responsible for executing procurement and inventory strategies. This role requires a results oriented, analytical person who can successfully combine a savvy interpersonal style with strong business acumen. This position has responsibility for ensuring material planning and delivery meet both internal and external client requirements, as well as building a first-class supplier base that delivers on time, on quality and on cost.
► Key Areas of Responsibility
Ensure accurate and timely purchase order creation and goods receipt to support production activities and client requirements.
Review purchase order requests from multiple locations for accuracy.
Verify pricing and generate purchase orders based on approved requests.
Enter and process purchase orders in the ERP software.
Once purchase orders are verified for accuracy, send to the appropriate supply chain vendor partner.
Work directly with supply chain vendor partners regarding purchase order acceptance, status updates, and expediting deliveries when needed. Close purchase orders as required.
Update and communicate pricing on an ongoing basis.
Quote products as needed.
Approve invoices and reconcile variances.
Maintain supply chain partner vendor lists and profiles.
Contact supply chain vendor partners concerning pricing, service, and accounting concerns.
Assist in the coordination of activities necessary to accomplish internal and external customer service and supply-goals and objectives.
Manage supplier relationships and build effective partnerships.
Work closely with Finance and Operations for material requirements, and billing.
Ensures compliance with internal policies, procedures and internal controls in accordance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act 2002 Section 404 .
Qualifications
► Key Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent, required. Associate degree in business, purchasing, or manufacturing management related field preferred.
ERP systems literacy knowledge preferred. TCM (Workwise) experience is highly desirable.
Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, and able to work well with teams.
Proficient computer skills in MS Word, Excel, and Google Suite (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, etc.).
Maintain the highest ethical standards and strict confidentiality since the job requires working with highly sensitive data.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize and deliver results.

Additional Information
The hourly rate for this position is $23.00 - $26.00 / hour.
The hiring wage rate range above represents what Avery Dennison reasonably expects to pay for this position as of the date of this posting. Actual salaries will vary within the range, and in some circumstances may be above or below the range, based on various factors including but not limited to a candidate’s relevant skills, experience, education and training, and location, as well as the job scope and complexity, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel required for the position, which may change depending on the candidate pool.
