JOB SUMMARY
Monday-Friday 8 am- 5 pm
The Purchasing Associate supports the procurement team in sourcing, purchasing, and inventory management of goods and services. This role ensures the timely acquisition of quality materials at the most cost-effective prices. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and has a strong understanding of supply chain operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Procurement Operations:
- Assist in sourcing suppliers, evaluating quotes, and negotiating contracts to secure the best value.
- Prepare purchase orders and ensure accurate documentation in procurement systems.
- Track orders and monitor delivery schedules to ensure timely receipt of goods.
Vendor Management:
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and address any issues related to pricing, quality, or delivery.
- Evaluate vendor performance based on quality, pricing, and service levels.
Inventory Management:
- Collaborate with the warehouse and inventory team to monitor stock levels and avoid shortages or overstocking.
- Conduct regular inventory audits to maintain accuracy and compliance.
Compliance & Reporting:
- Ensure adherence to company procurement policies and regulatory standards.
- Generate reports on purchasing activities, costs, and supplier performance.
Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities to streamline purchasing processes and improve efficiency.
- Implement cost-saving measures while maintaining quality standards.
METRICS AND MEASUREMENTS
Timeliness of order fulfillment (e.g., on-time delivery rate).
Cost savings achieved through negotiation and vendor management.
Accuracy of purchase orders and inventory records.
Supplier performance ratings based on quality and reliability.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED
- Strong understanding of procurement processes and supply chain management.
- Proficiency in procurement software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems).

- Attention to detail with strong organizational abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments and manage multiple priorities.
**EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE **
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred..
- 1–3 years of experience in purchasing or procurement roles.
- Knowledge of inventory management principles is preferred.
- Certification in procurement (e.g., Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP) or Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM)) is a plus.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- This is an office job and entails physical associated with operating a telephone and computer (viewing monitor, keyboard, mouse)
