    Northwest Pump is seeking a Purchasing Manager to join our team. This position will be at the forefront of our procurement department optimizing our supply chain, identifying top-tier suppliers, and leading our dynamic purchasing team. The ideal candidate will be effective in identifying and evaluating suppliers and managing the purchasing team to guarantee timely and cost-effective procurement of goods and services while maintaining high standards of quality.     Responsibilities

    • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with the company's goals and objectives, including cost reduction, supplier optimization, and risk management
    • Maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality goods and services
    • Lead and mentor a team of procurement professionals; provide ongoing guidance, training, and support
    • Drive the integration of systems and processes resulting from mergers and acquisitions, ensuring seamless alignment and functionality across platforms
    • Monitor market trends and pricing fluctuations to make informed decisions, optimize costs, and maximize value for the organization
    • Collaborate with S&OP Manager on inventory levels, minimize excess inventory, and ensure that materials are available as needed while avoiding shortages
    • Identify and pursue cost-saving opportunities
    • Continuously evaluate and improve procurement processes to enhance efficiency and reduce lead times
    • Work with Product Managers and/or S&OP Manager to identify, evaluate, and select suppliers as needed
    • Ensure all procurement activities adhere to relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards
    • Generate and present regular reports on procurement performance, including key performance indicators (KPIs), to executive leadership team

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, logistics, finance, or a related field highly preferred
    • Two or more years proven experience in a purchasing role, including a minimum of one year in a leadership role, required
    • Experience with mergers & acquisitions and systems integrations preferred
    • Familiarity with the industrial equipment or distribution industry a plus
    • In-depth knowledge of procurement processes, supply chain management, and cost analysis
    • Familiarity with industry-specific regulations and compliance
    • Proactive and analytical mindset with ability to interpret sales data and market trends
    • Advocate for effective change management and adaptability
    • Collaborative; ability to work effectively across a variety of departments
    • Strong organizational and time management skills; detail-oriented
    • Ability to effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, with all levels of customers and coworkers; ability to read, write and communicate in English
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Ability to operate standard office equipment including computers, telephone systems, and copiers with reasonable accommodation
    • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen, background check, and reference checks
