    Northline Seafoods is an innovative, growing seafood processing company looking for a motivated, detail-oriented Purchasing & Shipping Coordinator to lead procurement & shipping logistics for our shipyard construction and operations. This position will work closely with our Engineering, Project Management and Operations departments, as well as our suppliers, to purchase, ship and track project costs.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES

    • Perform and coordinate the purchasing of supplies, equipment and services
      • Serve as the purchasing agent for all departments
      • Communicate with vendors during the purchasing process to set up accounts, issue PO's and coordinate payment methods
      • Works closely with the Finance team to ensure vendor payments are executed
    • Coordinate and track shipments
      • Coordinate shipping with vendors and shipping brokers
      • Monitor and track all shipments to ensure they are received at the correct location
      • Serve as the primary contact for shipment deliveries, coordinating and communicating with on-site staff to ensure necessary offload equipment is on hand and deliveries are received in full
      • Become an expert at cost saving shipping methods
      • Ensure inventory and deliveries are tracked and secure
    • Assist in project budget tracking
      • Update and maintain project budget documents
      • Track and code all project expenditures
      • Ensure collection and submission of all project expenses to company's Finance team
    • Serve as the Washington-based shipping leader during our Alaska operating season. This may require regularly driving supplies to Seattle
    • Coordinate travel for special projects
    • Assist with special projects as needed – we are a small, but growing team with a lot going on

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Understanding of expense and budget tracking
    • Experience coordinating across multiple departments
    • Experience coordinating trucking and large shipments
    • Excellent computer skills including a high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office with emphasis on Excel
    • Excellent verbal, interpersonal, customer service and written communication skills
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
    • Ability to complete duties with minimal supervision
    • Valid driver's license

    This job operates in both an office and shipyard environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners and both physical and digital filing cabinets. Employee must be able to sit or stand at a computer for long periods of time. While in the shipyard, the employee may be exposed to loud noises and various weather conditions. Employee must be able to climb multiple levels of stairs. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate effectively. Must be able to lift up to 25lbs unassisted.
