    A Louisville-based food manufacturer located in Jeffersontown is seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing and Logistics Specialist to manage and optimize purchasing and logistics operations. This role ensures timely, cost-effective procurement and efficient inbound and outbound logistics to support uninterrupted production.

    [This is a full-time, non-exempt, on-site position]

    Key Responsibilities

    • Plan and execute purchasing strategies to secure quality inputs at optimal pricing.
    • Manage vendor negotiations and compliance with food safety standards (SQF).
    • Monitor inventory, input specifications, and Bill of Materials (BOM) accuracy in QuickBooks.
    • Evaluate open orders daily to ensure on-time delivery.
    • Stay informed on market trends and competitor strategies in purchasing and logistics.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, or a related field (preferred but not required).
    • 5 years of purchasing and logistics experience in food manufacturing (preferred).
    • Proficient in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
    • Attention to detail, urgency, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

    Work Environment

    • Office-based with regular interaction in production, warehousing, and shipping areas.
    • Ability to lift/move up to 30 lbs occasionally.
    • Minimal travel to vendor facilities for audits or inspections may be required.
