JOB SUMMARY: The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible to track of the supplies in the warehouse and manages orders to facilitate production. Their duties include signing off on shipments, counting the number of available products and placing orders for more inventory according to demand.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: The Production Associate reports directly to the following: QA Supervisor
DUTIES & RESPONSIBIITIES: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Work closely with the warehouse, production, QA, QC, and planning departments to maintain accurate inventory. Release labels from quarantine as required. Conduct daily reviews of raw materials, packaging components, and label allocations based on demand and MRP planning to ensure accurate purchasing for fulfilling sales orders. Create peer codes and maintain the accuracy of the bill of materials (BOM). Close batch records (sales orders). Provide the warehouse supervisor and staff with information on expired raw materials for timely handling. Update standard operating procedures (SOPs) as needed. Take corrective actions for expired raw materials and components through appropriate adjustments. Perform administrative tasks such as reporting, data entry, and documentation as required. Perform inventory adjustments in the inventory management system, including maintaining active and inactive items. Verify the accuracy and completeness of internal raw material transfers through the inventory management system. Support cycle counting procedures to maintain and adjust actual inventory accuracy. Report issues to management, prepare reports, and complete documentation as required. Perform other projects and duties assigned by management. Follow and ensure compliance with SOPs, current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), standard safety practices, and all company policies/procedures. Complete other projects and duties as assigned by management.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor preferred; some college work required 2-3 years of work experience in an inventory control field Strong written and verbal communication skills Good organizational skills with great attention to detail Working knowledge of general computer concepts Working knowledge in Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word Working knowledge of ERP or other inventory control software PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to sit for extended hours Ability to view a computer screen and type for extended hours Other physical requirements include occasional squatting, bending and twisting
