Requirements
Bachelor’s in Biology/Microbiology or equivalent discipline. Preferred candidates will also have appropriate experience (typically 0 – 3 years),
OR Associate degree or High School Diploma with appropriate equivalent experience (typically 3 + years)
• Knowledge and experience with analytical and microbiological techniques.
• Knowledge of cGMPs and laboratory safety.
• Experience working in a cGMP laboratory.
• Experience with aseptic sample collection and microbial testing.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Job Summary
The Quality Control Laboratory Technician is responsible for performing a variety of microbiology functions under minimal supervision. These functions include:
• Microbiological Sampling and Testing
• Environmental Monitoring
• Microbial Plate Counting
• Sample Management: including receipt and shipment of samples
• General Lab Support: housekeeping, monitoring and maintaining lab supplies inventory
• Documentation of all activities according to current good manufacturing practices (cGMP) and internal SOP’s
Essential Functions
• Perform sample collection and testing of environmental surface/air and utilities.
• Use a wide variety of sophisticated equipment with responsibility for operation, maintenance,
and daily calibration check (if appropriate).
• Prepare documentation of all laboratory work in accordance with cGMPs and SOPs, as
appropriate.
• Ensure all laboratory work is conducted in compliance with applicable safety and environmental regulations.
• Maintain inventory of all laboratory chemicals and consumables.
• Maintain sample submission area as well as shipment of samples to external laboratories.
