Food Safety / Quality Assurance Manager - Food Manufacturing
Overview: Seeking an experienced QA Manager to lead our food safety and quality assurance initiatives, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and maintaining quality control within the department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, enforce, and upgrade safety and quality protocols.
- Champion and manage SQF programs; regularly update related SOPs.
- Efficiently manage product quality control and issue resolution.
- Conduct, oversee, and follow up on audits related to food safety and quality.
- Lead internal audit processes, ensuring clear communication throughout the team.
- Liaise with suppliers for compliance and quality assurance.
- Validate QA documentation and data entries for consistency and accuracy.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant QA standards and practices.
- Work with management to devise testing methods for raw materials and final products.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s in Food Science, Microbiology, or equivalent.
- 3+ years in technical roles with leadership growth.
- 2+ years of experience in managerial roles.
- BRC, SQF and/or HACCP Certifications
- Microsoft Office proficiency.
- Strong communication and adaptability to ERP systems.
Additional Details:
- Directly oversees QA department staff of 3-4
- Office-based role with occasional production site exposure.
- Physical requirements: General mobility, occasional lifting (up to 50 lbs), minimal travel (~5%).
Salary: Dependent on experience and role requirements
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
