    Job Title: Quality Assurance Specialist 3 (NWS CL0003)

    North Wind Services is actively seeking individuals who can contribute to national security within the science, technology, and engineering fields as part of our supplemental labor team at vital federal research and development installations supporting the federal government. NWS has an established history of contributing to the success of their customer's mission.     Qualified applicants must be a US citizen, at least 18 years of age, and able to meet pre-employment requirements including any required physicals, drug screen, and/or background investigation to satisfy clearance requirements.

    Successful candidates will be employees of NWS, a premier government contractor charged with employing highly motivated and well-qualified personnel who can advance the missions in Los Alamos, NM. Though employed by NWS, the employee will take day-to-day direction from technical personnel employed directly by the client. Pay, benefits, Human Resource, and Employment Management functions are provided by NWS.

    North Wind Services has an opening in Los Alamos, NM for a Quality Assurance Specialist 3. The successful candidate will review procurement documentation, develop, and evaluate quality management processes, and conduct onsite investigations and audits to ensure compliance with quality standards.

    _Essential Duties
    _
    - Review and prepare procurement documentation related to quality assurance, quality engineering and quality control.

    - Participate in developing, implementing, and evaluating processes and procedures to sustain an effective Quality Management Systems.

    - Perform onsite investigations and verifications of Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).

    - Coordinate and conduct audits and surveillances of quality-affecting engineering, procurement, construction, and ancillary project work.

    - Perform all other job duties as assigned.

    _Essential Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
    _
    - Bachelor's degree in engineering, Quality Assurance, Industrial Systems Engineering, or a related field and 8 years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    - Advanced Knowledge of nuclear codes and standards, such as 10 CFR 830 Subpart A, DOE Order 414.1D, ASME NQA-1, ISO 9001, and U.S Nuclear Regulatory Commission Regulatory Guide Series.

    - Expertise in the ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code for pressure vessels and piping.

    - Extensive experience in quality assessments, surveillances, audits and Non-Conformance disposition and closure.

    - Ability to interpret complex physical, mechanical, and electrical documents, including blueprints and schematics.

    - Strong communication skills to effectively interact with personnel across multiple organizations.

    - Experience in welding, nondestructive testing, geometrics dimensioning, and tolerance.

    - Knowledge of engineering, procurement, and construction practices, including Commercial Grade Dedication (CGD) and the graded approach in an NWA-1 environment.

    - Eight years of experience as a Certified Welding Inspector (AWS-CWI).

    - Current or previous certification in three or more of the following: NDE Level II Inspection (RT, UT, MT, PT, VT), Piping or Pressure Vessel Inspection, Mechanical Inspections.

    - Ability to obtain a Q level Clearance.

    Onsite work wat a subcontractor's facility in the Midwest or Northeast, with domestic travel required.
