    SyAqua Americas is seeking a skilled biologist with experience in managing the collection, analysis, interpretation and reporting of data on water quality and aquatic animal health management for the SyAqua shrimp aquaculture business. The QC Biologist will play a role in maintaining and enhancing the quality and health of our shrimp products, from nauplius and post-larvae to shrimp breeders. This role involves water quality testing, sampling of shrimp for growth and health, managing data collection, entry analysis and reporting to ensure compliance with company standards and quality control processes. Candidate will be expected to monitor and report on all US farm biosecurity SOPs to safeguard shrimp production efforts. Biologist will manage special research projects as assigned.

    Key Responsibilities include:

    Implementation and verification of appropriate sampling, testing, recording, analysis, archiving and reporting of QC indicators.

    Work with farm staff to collect data on shrimp health, growth and systems water quality parameters

    Assure all data is entered into designated software systems for analysis. Provide periodic reports to operations and management on water quality and shrimp health.

    Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for quality control testing at US operations.

    Timely reporting of results of quality assessment and for notifying operations and management of any incidences of non-compliance with standards.

    Provide QC data to support evaluation of product complaints with site managers and the technical team.

    Ensure that all QC procedures and processes are carried out to meet company SOPs, and regulatory requirements.

    Coordinate health monitoring, monitor, audit and report on biosecurity at all US sites

    Collaborate with all site managers to correct any deficiencies and support continuous improvement of biosecurity protocols.

    Manage special research projects related to water treatment and shrimp performance as assigned by supervisor. Set up experimental trials according to shared protocols, collect and enter data and report on project findings.

    The ideal candidate will possess:

    Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field (e.g., Aquaculture, Biology (esp. microbiology), biotechnology). Master’s degree preferred.

    A minimum of 3 years of experience in biological laboratory work including data analysis and reporting.

    Experience in managing the collection, analysis, interpretation and reporting of data on water quality and aquatic animal health management. Direct experience with shrimp strongly preferred.

    Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, including statistical data analysis.

    Proficiency in using MS Office and basic statistical software.

    Good communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work and communicate effectively in English.Knowledge of Spanish preferred

    Able to work in warm moist production environments for extended periods.
