Quality Floor Inspector

We are seeking a Manufacturing Quality Floor Inspector to join our team and oversee quality assurance on our production floor. This role involves testing, monitoring, and ensuring that all products meet customer and regulatory standards while supporting the continuous improvement of production processes. Key Responsibilities:
Raw Material & Sample Testing:
- Perform random sampling of raw materials upon delivery to ensure they meet quality standards.
- Test incoming samples and materials to confirm they meet required specifications.
Compliance Testing:
- Ensure that all products meet CSA Testing, Underwriters Laboratory standards, and federal/state regulatory requirements.
Dimensional & Functional Testing:
- Use instruments like micrometers, calipers, and custom test gear to measure product dimensions and functionality.
Melt Index Testing:
- Conduct tests to determine and set the melt index by analyzing product samples.
Machine Setup Verification:
- Confirm that machine setups align with customer specifications, ensuring accurate production runs.
Documentation:
- Accurately complete all required quality documentation and maintain it in a timely manner.
Establish Accept/Reject Limits:
- Set and enforce accept/reject criteria for production quality to ensure consistent quality standards.
Process Capability Studies:
- Conduct Statistical Process Control (SPC) studies to monitor and improve process performance and ensure product consistency.
Data Reporting:
- Collect and report data related to product quality and production processes.
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Conduct quality audits as required by company protocols.
- Assist with training on quality systems for team members.
- Support manufacturing and receiving inspections to ensure consistent product quality.
- Aid in ISO 9001 and other relevant audit processes as needed.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment by reporting safety issues and accidents.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Education/Experience:
- Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Preferred: Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in a manufacturing-related field.
Skills & Abilities:
- In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, procedures, and machinery.
- First Article Inspection (FAI) - production validation process
- Strong communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Ability to work effectively within a team and lead quality improvement initiatives.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Proficient in using measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, multi-meters, and oscilloscopes.
- Strong computer and math skills.
- High level of personal integrity and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
Work Hours:
- Standard work hours: 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday (with a 30-minute unpaid meal break).
- Flexibility in work hours may be required based on customer needs and production requirements.
