Position Overview:
We are seeking a Quality Control Manager to lead our efforts in standardizing procedures, minimizing rework, and improving the overall quality of our projects. This role focuses heavily on developing and implementing quality control programs, training field teams, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and municipal requirements. The ideal candidate will have a background in construction, particularly in water and wastewater utilities, with strong skills in training, public speaking, and technical writing.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Control Program Development:
- Design and implement task-specific training programs for field employees, emphasizing proper installation procedures for piping and fittings.
- Ensure compliance with ASTM standards, AWWA guidelines, and municipal ordinances.
- Summarize specifications and plans for field teams, highlighting discrepancies and ensuring clarity.
Training & Development:
- Conduct in-house training sessions for field employees, focusing on standard procedures and best practices.
- Develop clear and concise training materials, policies, and procedures to enhance team performance and minimize rework.
Quality Assurance:
- Perform regular quality checks on projects, ensuring adherence to established standards and practices.
- Collaborate with project teams to identify and resolve quality issues proactively.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Draft and maintain comprehensive quality control documentation, including policies, inspection reports, and training manuals.
- Communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders, including field teams, project managers, and owners.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in construction, particularly in water/wastewater utilities, piping, or heavy civil projects.
- Familiarity with ASTM standards, AWWA guidelines, and municipal specifications.
- Strong public speaking, training, and technical writing skills.
- Experience as a Project Engineer, Assistant PM, or Superintendent is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of inspection and testing procedures for pressured pipe systems.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Competitive salary in the range of $90,000 - $105,000.
