Key Responsibilities
- Inspection and Verification:
* Conduct inspections of incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products to ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
* Verify measurements using tools such as micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
* Perform first article inspections and document results for approval.
* Record and maintain inspection results, ensuring accuracy and traceability.
* Generate non-conformance reports (NCRs) for defective materials or products.
* Ensure all documentation aligns with quality assurance protocols and customer requirements.
* Communicate inspection results and quality concerns to supervisors and production teams.
* Work closely with the engineering and production teams to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions.
* Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and all company quality assurance standards.
* Ensure compliance with workplace safety policies and procedures.
* Participate in 5-S program initiatives to maintain an organized and efficient work environment.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Required: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Preferred: Certification in quality control or inspection, such as ASQ CQI (Certified Quality Inspector).
- 2–5 years of experience in quality inspection within a manufacturing environment.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Strong understanding of inspection techniques and measurement tools.
- Experience with ERP systems and maintaining quality records.
Soft Skills
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical abilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Mathematical and Reasoning Abilities
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to interpret technical data.
Physical Requirements
- Regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands to handle or feel tools and materials.
- Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities include close vision, depth perception, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
- Moderate to occasionally loud noise levels.
- Exposure to a manufacturing environment, including machinery and production equipment.
