    Quality Manager - Manufacturing - Base Salary to 105k/year - Cleveland, OH

    • Our client, a respected manufacturer with a 70-year legacy of excellence in manufacturing metal components, is seeking a Quality Manager to join their team in Cleveland, OH.
    • The Quality Manager will oversee the inspection team, manage calibration and testing processes, ensure compliance with quality standards, participate in audits, address quality issues, and maintain proper documentation and staff training.

    Responsibilities:

    • Supervise Inspection Department employees, assign work tasks, and review production orders for alignment with routings and inspection sheets.
    • Prepare for and participate in audits, ensuring compliance with quality standards and specifications.
    • Direct and coordinate testing of sample specimens, ensuring physical, metallurgical, and dimensional characteristics meet specifications.
    • Calibrate measuring tools for new employees, maintain calibration logs, and ensure instruments are up-to-date and functional.
    • Oversee the issuance of gages for production jobs and investigate causes of defective material, issuing corrective actions as needed.
    • Complete Vendor Rejection, Rework, and Customer Complaint forms, determining disposition of substandard material.
    • Advise personnel on quality control techniques, testing methods, and ensure adherence to laboratory practices and policies.
    • Manage purchase orders for calibrations, new equipment, and consumables, ensuring proper documentation and inventory control.
    • Participate in the selection and training of staff, advising on staffing needs and ensuring training records are kept.
    • Review and revise procedures as necessary, ensuring all documentation is updated and approved for changes in specifications.

    Qualifications:

    • High School Diploma required, Associate’s Degree preferred, with previous experience or on-the-job training in a Quality department.
    • Ability to read, interpret documents, write reports, and effectively present information while responding to questions.
    • Solid mathematical and reasoning skills, including the ability to work with ratios, percentages, and measuring devices, and the ability to define problems, collect data, and make decisions.
    • Proficient in using measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, and optical comparators, and capable of handling multiple tasks with regular attendance and impartiality in all laboratory activities.

    Compensation:

    • Base salary to 105k/year
