Our client, a trusted manufacturer with decades of industry experience and a history of consistent growth, is seeking a Quality Manager to join their team. This role is critical to maintaining their high standards of excellence and supporting their commitment to continuous improvement.
The Quality Manager will oversee quality assurance processes, implement improvement initiatives, manage audits, and ensure compliance with industry standards to uphold product quality and customer satisfaction in the plastics manufacturing process.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement quality assurance protocols, procedures, and testing standards to ensure product consistency and compliance with industry regulations and customer specifications.
Oversee quality control inspections and testing throughout the manufacturing process, ensuring that products meet quality requirements at each production stage.
Investigate quality issues and product defects, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions to minimize recurrence.
Lead quality improvement initiatives to enhance processes, reduce defects, and improve overall product quality, using tools like Six Sigma, Lean, or other methodologies.
Manage internal and external audits (regulatory, and customer-specific) to ensure compliance with quality standards and maintain relevant certifications.
Supervise quality assurance staff, provide training on quality standards and best practices, and promote a culture of quality within the organization.
Work closely with suppliers to ensure incoming materials meet quality specifications and support supplier audits and assessments as needed.
Address customer quality concerns, collaborate on corrective actions, and provide detailed reporting on quality performance metrics as needed.
Collect, analyze, and report on quality metrics (such as defect rates, scrap rates, and customer complaints) to drive decision-making and highlight improvement areas.
Ensure thorough documentation of quality control activities, test results, corrective actions, and process changes in compliance with regulatory and company standards.
Qualifications:
4+ years of experience in a quality role within manufacturing
At least 1+ years of supervisory experience
3+ years of experience in the plastics manufacturing industry
Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate across departments and convey quality standards and requirements
Effective organizational, planning, and prioritizing skills to manage quality processes and meet deadlines
