Job Summary
Responsible for assuring consistent quality production and processes at LDB Beverage by conducting validation procedures before, during, and after manufacturing runs. Ensures that products comply with quality standards. This role requires interaction with employees across all levels of the organization to achieve objectives, as they relate to GMPs, Safe Quality Foods (SQF), organic, gluten free and kosher certifications.
General Accountabilities
Complete daily and intermittent internal audits throughout the facility to ensure that all staff follow all safety and quality policies.
Review periodically the Routine Maintenance checklists to ensure they are being completed. Review checklists to detect any gaps, then communicate as necessary with the Facilities Manager.
Review packaging run paperwork prior to runs.
Perform daily audits of completed paperwork and report all failures to the Packaging/Cellar Leads, Quality & EHS Manager, and any other stakeholders as needed.
Communicate with customers before and after production runs.
Conduct field tests to ensure equipment and HACCP processes are performing as expected.
Conduct periodic internal calibration procedures on equipment.
Train staff as it relates to GMPs, safety, and quality at LDB.
Collect and prepare for shipment any customer and/or LDB required samples.
Track and manage any finished product or raw materials on QC hold, ensuring all re-work is completed to specification for release.
Identify areas for quality control improvement and assist to implement new methods accordingly.
Conduct scheduled facility waste water samplings and report to the necessary parties on findings.
Update job knowledge by studying trends in and developments in quality management, participate in educational opportunities, read professional publications, and maintain personal networks.
Actively engage in LDB communication mechanisms (Basecamp and email).
Any other tasks or projects, as determined by Quality & EHS Manager.
Skills/Qualifications
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
Minimum of 2 years of inspection and/or production experience (food manufacturing a plus).
Excellent organizational skills.
Demonstrated ability to analyze, interpret and report information.
Critical thinking and complex problem solving.
Ability to interact with and manage diverse stakeholders in a positive manner.
Ability to adapt to a changing workload.
Ability to manage and promote process improvement.
Competency with Microsoft & Google suites (spreadsheets and documents).
